Announcements:
We are moving the location of our membership meeting from the North Stonington senior center to the Westerly, RI senior center. Hopefully, we will have less friction at the Westerly senior center than we experienced recently with the N. Stonington senior center. The Westerly senior center is on State St. State St. is off of Beach St. (Rt 1A) near the merge of Beach St. and Main St. in downtown Westerly.
Because of the change in meeting places, we will NOT have the previously scheduled pot luck dinner at the September meeting.
The September membership meeting will take nominations of club officers with a two year term. This is a great opportunity to see more of the club’s inner workings without a big work commitment. Consider stepping up to the experience.
Recent Events
8/16 Washington County Fair. We had a total of 14 cars in a high visibility spot with lots interest from fair goers.
8/18-8/20 North Conway NH We had a great time. Dave Calabrese’s LeSabre took best in show and he donated back the prize money.
Upcoming Club Events
9/9 Sat DATE CHANGE pot luck party at the Calabrese’s 40 Border Ave. In the Green Hill section of South Kingston RI starting at noon. See the calendar section of our web site for detailed directions. The generous hosts will supply hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a salad, side dish or desert to share. The rain date is the next day Sun. 9/10
Fri 9/15-Sun 9/17 Old Orchard Beach ME car show. Those wishing to caravan to the site should meet at the Hope Valley, RI McDonalds at 8 AM of Fri. 9/15/17. The McDonalds is located in front of the Stop & Shop on RI Rt. 138. It is at exit 3A RT 138 East off of I-95. Contact Don Oster for details.
Oct. 4-7 Wed-Sat Hershey PA 2017: AACA fall show swap and car coral. We will be staying at the Day’s Inn. Dave Calabrese has made all the reservations on his credit card. Each person will be able to pay on the day of arrival. Six rooms for twelve people have been reserved. http://www.aaca.org/
