October: Gerry Lynn updates “Local Repair Shops, as the wrench turns” As a veteran of many scraped knuckles, he will relay his experience with finding a repair shop for your old car in our area.
Upcoming Events
Oct. 12th Wed. Club gathering at Clyde’s Cider Mill, N. Stonington. 11 AM. The oldest steam powered cider mill in the country. Unfortunately this year they will not have demonstrations of using steam to press apples as the machinery is down for repairs. Also, we will be parking in their regular lot as the grass area by the road is fenced off.
Everybody mark your calendars now. Our holiday party will be Sat Dec. 10 at 2 PM at the Richmond Country Club, 74 Sandy Pond Rd., Richmond, RI 02832. The menu consists of a turkey dinner buffet for $25 per person with a cash bar. We’ll be collecting paid reservations starting with our October meeting.
Note of meeting date changes due to Thanksgiving and our holiday party:
In November the executive board meeting will be on Wed. Nov. 16th and the membership meeting will be on Wed. Nov. 30th due to the Thanksgiving celebration .
There will be no executive board meeting or regular membership meeting in December due to our holiday party.
Dues are now payable. Club and national AACA dues are due January 1st. First pay your national AACA dues. You can pay at the AACA website (www.aaca.org), call 717-534-1910 and pay by credit card, or mail the renewal card insert in the Sept/Oct 2016 AACA magazine titled Antique Automobile. The annual renewal is $35. You can get your membership number from your membership card or on the mailing label on the plastic wrapping of your Antique Automobile magazine.
After you pay your national dues you can pay your $15 WP region dues to treasurer Dave Calabrese at a meeting or through the mail. Make your checks of $25 per person for the holiday party and $15 for the WPRAACA regional dues payable to “WPRAACA”.
Oct. 22nd Sat. Gathering of the Faithful car get together in Middleborough MA, near I-495. Car pool to the event. Leave the Wakefield, RI bowling alley at 6 AM.

Sept. 9th to 11th N. Conway NH show. Dave Calabrese’s 50-50 winning ticket paid for the club entertainment during the whole weekend.
Sept. 11th Sun. Brooklyn, CT car show. A good selection of old cas
Sept. 13 Tues. Apple Rehab Clipper Center cruise, Rt. 1 Westerly, RI. We had one of the largest club turnouts in its history.
Sept 17 Sat Club picnic at Dave & Pat Calabreese house Dave & Pat provided hamburgers & chicken that were also paid from his earlier 50-50 winnings.. Members brought their old cars. Thanks again to Dave & Pat for hosting this wonderful party.

Sept. 25 Sun Newport RI Car show at Ft. Adams State Park Over 500 old car entries at a gorgeous location
Oct. 2 Sun. Westerly Historical Society Babcock-Smith House cruise and presentation. Ten club members brought their cars and shared talks with the historical society group about the significance of cars in their lives and our history. Thanks to Bob DeGoursey and Ken Carr for their presentations on pre and post war cars
