Announcements:
We are temporarily changing the day of our board meeting from Wednesday to Tuesday for the summer months of June through September. This will make it easier for members to attend the many cruise nights and shows over the summer.
The September members meeting will take nominations for officers with a two year term. This is a great opportunity to see more of the club’s inner workings without a big work commitment. Consider stepping up to the experience.
Recent Events
North Stonnington Fair Sun 7/16 Ten old cars showed up for an enjoyable day at the fair.
Time Machines car show Guilford, CT Sun 7/23 Again about 10 cars traveled there as a group with no break downs either way. Don Oster and Tom Link returned with trophies.
Westerly health car club cruise. Tues. 7/25 Our club had about six cars get together for the health care center’s residents.
Upcoming Club Events
8/16 Wed. Washington County Fair opening day of the Washington County RI fair at the fairgrounds on Rt. 112 in Richmond, RI. We are looking for a few cars on Wednesday to park in a display and represent our old car hobby in Washington Co. Members displaying their cars get free fair admission that day. Members wishing to display their cars should meet at the Benny’s store on Rt. 1 in the Dunns Corner section of Westerly at 9 AM. If you want to meet the group at the fair we’ll look for you parked on the side of the entrance road off of Rt. 112 Its easier for the fair managers if we arrive there as a group. We’ll be wrapping up about 2:30-3:00 PM http://www.washingtoncountyfair-ri.com/
Fri. 8/18-Sun.8/20 North Conway NH Show will be the first weekend after Labor Day. Meet at the McDonald’s in Hope Valley RI Take exit 3A off of I-95 on to Rt. 138.If you are interested in attending please contact Don Oster. . http://www.whitemountaincruisers.mysite.com/index_3.html (events 9/10)
9/9 Sat DATE CHANGE pot luck party at the Calabrese’s 40 Border Ave. In the Green Hill section of Wakefield starting at noon. The generous hosts will supply hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a salad, side or desert to share. The rain date is the next day Sun. 9/10
Fri 9/15-Sun 9/17 Old Orchard Beach ME car show. Same meeting place as above. Again contact Don Oster for details.
Oct. 4-7 Wed-Sat Hershey PA 2017: AACA fall show swap and car coral We will be staying at the Day’s Inn. Dave Calabrese has made all the reservations on his credit card. Each person will be able to pay on the day of arrival. Six rooms for twelve people have been reserved. http://www.aaca.org/
